ABOUT US

India's premier research and consultancy initiative for the law of space and the sea.

At Neel Arnav Research, we are building India's premier research and consultancy initiative — one that combines the scientific and technological dimensions of outer space and the oceans with the law and policy of the legal regimes that govern them.

Named Neel Arnav, meaning 'blue expanse' in Sanskrit poetry, the initiative was co-founded by two friends struck by the poetry and philosophy of the legal regimes governing the blue expanses of space and sea. Both co-founders are accomplished experts in International Space Law and the International Law of the Sea respectively, bringing experience of working and researching across four continents and eight countries.

"Our vision is to serve Indian interests in outer space and the oceans through highly specialised advisory that translates complex scientific data into legally and policy-relevant analysis."
